(AmericanProsperity.com) – After decades on the run, a vegan extremist turned dangerous eco-terrorist has finally been brought to justice.
On the wanted list for bombings in California, 46-year-old Daniel Andreas San Diego was captured in Wales after evading law enforcement for over 20 years.
His arrest was the result of coordinated efforts between American and British law enforcement agencies.
North Wales Police took him in with assistance from the National Crime Agency and U.K. Counter Terrorism Police.
San Diego played a crucial role in multiple bombings targeting companies with ties to animal testing back in 2003.
The self-proclaimed animal rights activist was indicted in 2004 for attacks on Chiron Corporation in Emeryville and Shaklee Corporation in Pleasanton, California.
According to the FBI, San Diego’s extremist actions went far beyond peaceful protest.
At Chiron, he detonated two bombs, with the second one timed to kill first responders arriving after the first explosion.
While no one was injured, the attacks caused significant property damage and were intended to terrorize and harm innocent Americans.
In 2009, San Diego became the first domestic terrorist added to the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorists list.
The agency offered a $250,000 reward for information leading to his capture, highlighting the seriousness of his crimes.
For years, this dangerous fugitive managed to evade justice, likely with help from a network of fellow extremists.
“Daniel San Diego’s arrest after more than 20 years as a fugitive for two bombings in the San Francisco area shows that no matter how long it takes, the FBI will find you and hold you accountable,” FBI Director Christopher Wray declared.
Wray also emphasized the agency’s commitment to bringing domestic terrorists like San Diego to justice, regardless of how long they manage to hide.
“There’s a right way and a wrong way to express your views in our country, and turning to violence and destruction of property is not the right way,” Wray added.
This arrest sends a clear message that radical eco-extremists and other anti-American elements cannot escape the long arm of the law.
San Diego now faces extradition back to the United States, where he will finally answer for his crimes.
