(AmericanProsperity.com) – In a shocking revelation, a 20-year-old from New Braunfels, Texas, has confessed to plotting a mass attack with firearms and explosives.

Fortunately, Cameron Peterson’s dangerous intentions were frustrated thanks to an anonymous tipster who alerted authorities.

The informant reported that Peterson had “severe emotional issues, idolizes violence and school shootings, and that he may emulate infamous prior mass shooters,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas.

Investigators discovered that Peterson had been carefully planning mass shootings since November 2022.

His targets reportedly included a gas station and a grocery store. Despite being legally unable to buy firearms due to his age, Peterson tried to purchase a 12-gauge shotgun twice but was denied both times.

A search of Peterson’s home uncovered an arsenal of altered weapons and explosive devices.

Law enforcement found an altered .22 caliber long rifle, loaded magazines and materials for making explosive devices, including an operational improvised explosive device (IED).

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is leading the investigation into Peterson’s case, underscoring the seriousness of the threat he posed.

Peterson now faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a potential $250,000 fine. His sentencing is scheduled for February 5, 2025.
