4 of The Strangest Coronavirus Restrictions

(AmericanProsperity.com) – As COVID-19 spread quickly across the world, countries imposed a myriad of restrictions on their citizens, some much stranger than others. We’ve collected a few of the most outrageous or simply puzzling laws put on the books since March of this year.

Four of the most absurd coronavirus restrictions we found are:

  • Brazil’s Health Regulatory Agency banned travelers from bringing pillows onto a plane and prohibited airlines from handing them out.

  • Individuals in parts of Kosovo who are “over 65 years of age, or with chronic illnesses” can only leave their homes for 5 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening.
  • In New Zealand, residents are not trusted to quarantine themselves. Instead, if they leave the country, they must pay $3,100 for an “isolation stay” upon their return.
  • South-African businesses can only sell closed-toed shoes, and any short-sleeved shirts for sale must be advertised as belonging under a long-sleeved counterpart.

In theory, these restrictions were made to help people stay safe. In practice, they just made us scratch our heads. Thankfully, with the Constitution protecting us, American lockdowns never hit these extremes!
