(AmericanProsperity.com) – Putting Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ open-border policy on blast, it has been revealed that 41 out of 45 individuals arrested for looting in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton were illegals.

The arrests came as part of an intensive effort by law enforcement to protect storm-ravaged areas from opportunistic criminals.

Charges against the suspects ranged from armed robbery and burglary to loitering and trespassing.

“A lot of these people were in the area to take others’ properties and our efforts prevented additional crimes from occurring,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said.

“They’re going into people’s homes, they’re taking stuff, they’re rummaging through their things. In one case, it was an armed robbery where they went in and stole from them forcibly,” he added.

“It’s maddening. This is the epitome of people trying to exploit others when they’re down and when they’re out and when they’re trying to rebuild and they’ve got nothing,” Gualtieri continued.

The situation in Pinellas County serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of lax border policies.

With over 500,000 residents evacuated due to the hurricanes, countless homes were left vulnerable to criminal activity.

The fact that most of those arrested were in the country illegally raises serious questions about the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the ongoing border crisis.

Even more concerning is the revelation that an additional 196 individuals were questioned under suspicious circumstances, with 163 found to be illegals.

Although they were released due to lack of probable cause, their presence in the disaster-stricken area raises red flags about the true extent of the problem.

Sheriff Gualtieri’s office deployed 80 additional deputies to evacuated areas, showcasing a commitment to public safety.

The looting spree was not the only threat Pinellas County residents faced. In a separate operation, 58 individuals were charged with scamming hurricane victims out of a staggering $250 million for unperformed repairs.

As Pinellas County continues its recovery efforts, Sheriff Gualtieri has vowed to maintain aggressive patrols and arrest anyone caught stealing from vulnerable residents.
