(AmericanProsperity.com) – Wisconsin’s election integrity is under scrutiny as nearly 200 absentee ballots went uncounted in Madison during the November 2024 election.
This shocking revelation has prompted an investigation into potential violations of state law and abuse of discretion by Madison City Clerk Maribeth Witzel-Behl.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission voted unanimously to launch an investigation after learning that 193 absentee ballots were left uncounted in Madison.
Madison is a liberal stronghold where Kamala Harris secured 75% of the vote in Dane County.
This oversight is particularly alarming given Wisconsin’s status as a key battleground state, which President-elect Donald Trump won in the 2024 election.
Commission Chair Ann Jacobs emphasized the urgency of the situation, saying, “I thought this was so egregious that it’s important we move immediately.”
The uncounted ballots were discovered in courier bags and vote tabulating machines across three city wards.
This discovery came well after the election results were certified on November 29, raising concerns about the integrity of the entire process.
Even more troubling is the fact that city officials, including Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, were kept in the dark about the problem until late December.
“We are the final canvassers. We are the final arbiters of votes in the state of Wisconsin and we need to know why those ballots weren’t included anywhere,” Jacobs said.
This is not the first time Witzel-Behl’s office has been tangled in controversy.
In September, she sent out up to 2,000 duplicate absentee ballots due to a data processing error.
These repeated mistakes raise serious questions about the competence and reliability of Madison’s election management.
The investigation seeks to determine whether Witzel-Behl failed to comply with state law or abused her discretion.
It is worth noting that this is the first investigation of its kind since the commission became an agency in 2016.
“My biggest concern is why it took a month and a half for this to come out,” expressed Republican commissioner Don Millis.
As the state approaches the spring primary elections on February 18, it is crucial that Americans demand accountability and transparency from election officials.
The integrity of the democratic process is at stake, and liberal strongholds like Madison should not be allowed to compromise the voice of the people through incompetence.
