Bernie Sanders Makes DUMBEST Excuse Ever After Agenda Collapses
(AmericanProsperity.com) – Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) has been a thorn in the side of progressive Democrats for months. First, the lawmaker stood in the way of President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better Plan. Now, he’s an obstacle to the administration’s climate change package. Manchin’s apparent obstruction had led Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to claim the moderate Democrat is intentionally sabotaging the president’s agenda during a recent appearance on ABC’s This Week.
Sanders’ lashed out at Manchin after the West Virginia senator abruptly ended negotiations with the White House regarding Biden’s climate package, which would have secured a party-line vote in the Senate.
The left-leaning lawmaker believes the “problem” Democrats are having with Manchin is that they’re speaking with their colleague as if he were actually “serious” on the matter. According to Sanders, Manchin doesn’t have any interest in meeting the White House somewhere in the middle on the legislation. Sander’s also said Manchin receives a lot of money from Republican billionaires and the fossil fuel industry.
On the flip side, Manchin claims he’s doing what’s in the best interest of voters in his state, citing a four-decade-high inflation rate. The West Virginia lawmaker explained that people are dying because they can’t afford fuel, food, and everything else they need to live.
Sanders had claimed that there was “nothing new” about his fellow senator’s decision to vote against his party. Is the independent senator correct in his accusation, or is Manchin truly doing what he believes is best for the people?
