(AmericanProsperity.com) – Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden touts many campaign promises, including giving Americans free healthcare, public housing, and increased disability benefits. However, he often fails to correctly calculate just what his expansive plans would cost. It’s probably more than he thinks.
On Wednesday, October 7, a new report released by the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) outlined the billions of dollars Biden’s disability plan and public housing would cost Americans.
The Biden campaign estimates that its fair housing plan to increase Section 8 vouchers, add a first-time homebuyer tax credit, and implement a low-income renter’s credit would cost $640 billion over 10 years. However, CRFB believes it will cost $750 billion.
The Biden campaign did not even claim a price for their disability benefits. Marc Goldwein, the senior policy director at CRFB, says it will cost over $700 billion. The CRFB did make it clear how Biden would try and fund these programs:
.@Mike_Pence describes that @JoeBiden would repeal the 2017 tax cuts. The parts Biden would repeal would raise around $1.5 trillion or more. Other tax increases bring the total up to $3.4-$3.7 trillion #VPdebatehttps://t.co/uIkeSqCEYE pic.twitter.com/Rf4AA8Ewp9

Biden underestimated the cost of his housing and disability plans in an effort to rally American support. However, we know that he’d have to pay for these pricey programs by overtaxing Americans and raising government spending to an all-time high. Keeping his budget in check might be too much to ask for.
