(AmericanProsperity.com) – Owning a home where a family can feel safe and free to live their lives as they see fit is part of the American dream. But, this goal of many of our citizens is now under attack as President Joe Biden hopes to revive a fair housing program enacted by former President Barack Obama.
On March 31, the White House released its fact sheet on Biden’s American Jobs Plan. Hidden among the vast proposal is a small paragraph condemning “exclusionary zoning laws” alongside Biden’s call to have Congress push grants and funding for affordable housing. This would promote multifamily housing and small lot sizes, and likely unleash a variety of lawsuits.

This plan could easily destroy the comforting feeling of suburban neighborhoods and put the federal government in charge of zoning millions of family-friendly streets. As we’ve seen time and time again, the moment the government takes over a job that US citizens are doing, things go south. Hopefully, the GOP will have enough strength in Congress to hold off this plan as long as possible to preserve our both nation’s neighborhoods and the dreams of so many.
