(AmericanProsperity.com) – After the recent shootings in our nation, it’s no surprise the Left has reinvigorated its push to ban assault weapons and to find any other way to infringe on our Second Amendment rights. But, Republicans continue to shed light on the issues facing our nation, showing that these actions are not the answers our citizens need to remain safe and free.
On Tuesday, March 23, President Joe Biden called for a ban on assault weapons. But, GOP senators are pushing back against it by stating how it would infringe on our 2A constitutional rights. They highlighted that a ban could likely make minorities who use guns to protect themselves less safe. Senator Mike Lee (R-AZ) noted that “it’s rarely the empowered…who have their rights interfered with.”
House Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) also shared her thoughts on Biden’s actions on Twitter:

While legislation is likely to be put forward supporting universal background checks, Republicans are holding strong to ensure no movement from the Left infringes on our rights. Rather than banning assault weapons, which are virtually the same as most hunting and sport rifles, we need to arm more Americans to keep our minorities and communities safe.
