Biden's Nominee Doesn't Get Appointed

Biden Nominee BLOCKED

(AmericanProsperity.com) – President Joe Biden recently nominated Arianna Freeman to serve on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, paving the way for her to become the first black woman to serve on that pane. However, a couple of Democrats managed to sabotage her confirmation. As one might expect, they played down the debacle, claiming this kind of situation has happened in the past.

On paper, Freeman appeared qualified to serve on the court. She’s a Yale law school graduate with courtroom experience as a former public defender for Pennsylvania’s Eastern District.

As it turned out, Senators Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) didn’t bother showing up for the vote, dooming Freeman’s nomination in the absence of any Republican support by the narrow margin of 49 to 51.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) sided with Republicans and voted “no” as a procedural maneuver to allow the Senate to reconsider her nomination. If both absent Democrats had been present and Schumer had voted “yes,” Freeman would have been confirmed by a margin of 50 to 49 since Republican Senator Todd Young (R-IN) also missed the vote.

So far, the Senate has confirmed 80 of Biden’s nominations to the federal bench.
