Border Mayors Speak On What They Want to See From Next President

(AmericanProsperity.com) – The Border Mayors have spoken out on what they want to see from the next elected president as the election continues to creep up.

Mayor Jorge Maldonado has expressed the need for more Customs and Border Protection staff from the next administration. Said Maldonado, “We got people trying to cross the border that are taking two or three hours long.” He continued, “These are the legal crossers and we’re not taking care of them.”

Maldonado said that in the Arizona Tucson sector they haven’t seen a huge surge of immigrants come into the country at all. However, he said that they have a steady flow of Americans and Mexicans who are trying to legally cross the border for work, school, or commerce.

Maldonado said, “These are the people that are going to come into our country and leave their money.” He added, “We’ve lost focus on the legals because we were so concentrated on the illegals”

The needs for every area of the border is different which is why the next president needs to visit the Southern Border, according to Maldonado.

He stated that people are making policies “two thousand miles away” and continued to say “If they come here and listen to us a little bit, that might help him.”

Border officials have also said that they haven’t had any progress with border control, despite Kamala Harris being put in charge of the causes of Central American migration.

The Biden Administration saw millions of illegal border crossings, and it sparked a huge border crisis for America. The incidents that have emerged have become controversial for officials and lawmakers who are being pressured to solve this issue.
