(AmericanProsperity.com) – President-elect Donald Trump is set to begin his new term with a huge conflict at hand: European nations are considering deploying troops to Ukraine, potentially dragging America into war.
Specifically, the U.K. and France are leading discussions to form a “core of allies in Europe” focused on Ukraine.
The move raises concerns about escalating tensions with Russia and further plunging the U.S. into new overseas military engagements.
These talks come as fears grow that Trump’s second administration might reduce American military support for Ukraine.
European leaders are scrambling to fill the void, with France and the U.K. leading plans to maintain a Western presence in the region.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has taken a particularly hawkish stance, refusing to rule out sending French troops to Ukraine.
“We do not discard any option,” Barrot stated, indicating Europe’s willingness to escalate its involvement in the conflict.
The potential deployment of Western troops to Ukraine marks a dangerous escalation that could draw NATO into direct conflict with Russia.
Europe could commit U.S. resources and potentially American lives to a major conflict by getting NATO involved.
This new development came after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an updated nuclear doctrine.
Said doctrine allows for the use of nuclear weapons if Russia or its ally Belarus are threatened by a non-nuclear nation supported by a nuclear power.
While European nations push for greater involvement, reports suggest that Trump would take a different approach.
A member of Trump’s team indicated that under his leadership, “We can do training and other support but the barrel of the gun is going to be European. We are not sending American men and women to uphold peace in Ukraine.”
As the situation in Ukraine continues to escalate, Russia launched advanced ‘Oreshnik’ missiles capable of traveling at ten times the speed of sound.
NATO held emergency talks with Kyiv after North Korea deployed its troops to support Russia, underscoring the growing danger of the conflict.
