CBS Staffers Arrested at the US Capitol While Filming

(AmericanProsperity.com) – US Capitol Police (USPC) recently arrested a group of seven staffers working for Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on CBS. Their arrests came when the group allegedly trespassed on Capitol grounds after hours.

According to a report from Fox News, USPC arrested the staffers after they allegedly entered the US House office building illegally. Authorities had removed the same seven people earlier in the day when the group had attempted to sit in on the January 6 committee hearing. Police had escorted the media workers out of the building once the group failed to provide the necessary credentials.

Fox News detailed how the staffers came back after the Capitol had already closed to the public. The report mentioned how the trespassers recorded video and took photos of the offices of Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. Authorities responded to a call of a disturbance in the Longworth Office Building when they spotted the seven individuals without proper credentials and without an escort, leading to charges of unlawful entry.

The USCP asserted the area was an active crime scene and there would be further investigation into the incident. Fox News reported that “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” ran a rerun on June 17, adding that Colbert himself has yet to comment on the arrests.
