(AmericanProsperity.com) – For decades China has oppressed the Uyghur people, a majority of them Muslim, in East Turkistan. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has policies in the region directly targeting Islam. Despite the abuses, and the fact China isn’t an Islamic country, Pakistan was happy to invite the communist country to the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The theme of this year’s OIC meeting was aimed at building partnerships for justice, unity, and development. Perhaps that’s why Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the often exclusive meeting and met with Pakistan’s foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, for the OIC’s opening in Islamabad. Pakistan and China seem to have excellent relations despite the CCP’s genocide against Uyghur Muslims and other minorities.
Yi offered congratulations to Pakistan, asserting the country serves as a bridge between the oriental world and the people of Islam. The Chinese Foreign Minister also mentioned the unbreakable relationship China enjoys with Pakistan. Qureshi feels the same, claiming Pakistan-China relations are at an all-time best and calling the country a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Despite the obvious horrors Uyghur Muslims face in China, the country has claimed its concentration camps are vocational training centers and that anyone who escapes is just an actor spreading lies. The explanation seems to be enough to keep Islamic world leaders at bay, as they don’t question it. Of course, China would never admit any wrongdoing for fear of losing their crucial relationship with Pakistan.
