(AmericanProsperity.com) – Chinese-made humanoid robots with lifelike capabilities have sparked concern across the United States as officials have already called for a ban in the United States. Although these robots aren’t as popular yet, there have been multiple Chinese companies that have released their humanoid robots.
These robots are made specifically to take over some human tasks that are either repetitive or dangerous. They are able to carry boxes and even replicate human facial expressions. United Robotics is one Chinese firm that has developed a ninety thousand dollar robot capable of running at speeds of 11 mph.
Jacob Helberg, a member of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, has been one of the most outspoken about the dangers and has been warning congress of the potential threat of these robots. Helberg was also a loud voice when it came to the banning of TikTok.
“I think we’re 12 months away from a ChatGPT moment where the world goes from being asleep to awake on this issue,” said Helberg.
The concern comes with suspicions that the Chinese Communist Party could use these robots for spying or sabotaging the United States and others. Although these robots are considered harmless at the moment, there is still a huge possibility that they could be used with malicious intent as well.
Helberg spoke about just the physical capabilities of these robots like them being able to strangle someone or inflict harm onto a person. This doesn’t even touch on the cyber spying and potential concern of cyber attacks these robots can pose.
Some experts and officials have thought that the warnings are silly, but there are also people that understand the potential threat of these robots.
