Chris Christie Blasts Trump and Suggests Presidential Bid

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Former Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said during a Monday interview with The Daily Beast he has the intention to be the Republican Party’s nominee for the 2024 presidential election. He also said that former president Donald Trump’s popularity is a threat to the GOP as he explained that US President Joe Biden will get reelected if Trump wins the primaries. Christie added this is the reason why “I intend to be the nominee.”

The Republican leader, who is touring early primary states, made these comments while he was in New Hampshire, which is a state where he finished in sixth place in the 2016 Republican Party’s primaries. Despite this disappointing result and the way Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are becoming the two favorites to win the nomination, Christie seems about to launch his second presidential bid.

When asked if there was a way to win the primaries, Christie said he has plenty of chances and considered himself as the “viable Trump alternative.” Social media users claimed these words are surprising since Christie seemed “insecure” about his intentions of running and his chances of winning a couple of months ago.

While the former New Jersey Governor seems confident about his chances, he will have to face a difficult road to win the nomination. After all, he will have to face some strong candidates like former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and former South Carolina Governor and United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

Some polls reveal that Haley could give a major surprise considering that her popularity has been increasing over the last few weeks, and voters see her as the face of new GOP leadership. This is an important aspect since a recent NBC poll revealed that Americans don’t want Trump or Biden to run for the 2024 presidential election as they feel it is time for a new leadership in both parties.
