Clarence Thomas Announces Big Plans

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas recently issued a stay on a subpoena against Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). A judge had ordered him to testify in relation to possible interference in the Georgia 2020 election, but the legislator had disagreed with the decision. Now, another Trump ally might seek the same treatment after receiving a subpoena to testify before a Georgia grand jury. Will Thomas once again come to the rescue?

South Carolina Circuit Judge Edward Miller recently ruled that Mark Meadows, Trump’s former chief of staff, must comply with a request from Fani Willis, the District Attorney of Fulton County. It compels Meadows to testify before a Georgia grand jury in regard to the 2020 election. But the matter could fall into the lap of the conservative Thomas.

Whether Meadows will seek a request similar to that of Graham and attempt to have the Supreme Court Justice issue a stay as well remains unclear. Also uncertain is whether Thomas, who hasn’t given a reason for his decision to suspend Graham’s subpoena, would side with Meadows due to his ideology, which critics claim is why he suspended Graham’s subpoena.

Senator Graham has a legal avenue for his action under the US Constitution’s speech and debate clause, which asserts that members of Congress can’t be prosecuted for conversations they’ve had during the course of legislative business. However, unlike Graham, who may legally avoid testifying, Meadows isn’t a member of Congress. He’s a private citizen.
