Climate Change Consequences Predicted by John Kerry at Davos

(AmericanProsperity.com) – President Biden’s climate envoy, former secretary of state John Kerry, was at the World Economic Forum’s conference in Davos, Switzerland this week. He gave a speech to the audience of wealthy power brokers, and it wasn’t an optimistic one. According to Kerry, we’re not doing enough to prevent climate change — and probably can’t.

On January 17 Kerry spoke at a WEF discussion titled “Philanthropy: A Catalyst for Protecting Our Planet,” based on the idea that ultra-rich activists should “use their tools to help corporates and governments.” Kerry used his speech to deliver a relentlessly gloomy message, saying he’s “not convinced” humanity will manage to escape the worst consequences of climate change predicted by alarmists. He said that although governments have signed up to the net zero agenda, pledging to become carbon neutral by 2050, “most of them aren’t on track to get there.”

Kerry slammed businesses for not recognizing economic growth is a “destructive process” and claimed that half of Earth’s species “have already been killed” (biologists think the actual figure is between 7.5% and 13% — in 500 years). He complained that “nobody” is fulfilling all the climate pledges they’ve made.

As well as his pessimistic predictions, Kerry also made some statements that were frankly bizarre. Praising the attendees at Davos, he referred to the crowd of politicians and billionaires as a “select group of human beings” who were interested in saving the planet because they had been “touched,” before adding that the phenomenon was “almost extraterrestrial.”

As climate envoy, Kerry has played an active role in pushing other governments to follow the Biden administration’s lead on green policies. He’s already faced questions from House Republicans, who plan to investigate exactly what he’s been up to. For now, though, he’s still pushing Biden’s extreme green agenda — and at Davos he’s found an audience that wants to listen.
