CNN Announces Trump Will Appear on New Hampshire Town Hall

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Liberal TV network CNN announced on Monday that former US President Donald Trump will participate in a CNN town hall event that will take place in New Hampshire next week. The news came as a surprise considering that Trump has been suggesting he may not show up at these types of events, as all polls conclude he’s the favorite candidate to win the Republican Party’s primaries.

The CNN town hall, which will take place at New Hampshire’s Saint Anselm College, will air next week at 9 PM EST and will be moderated by CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins. Many believe this could turn ugly for the former president as it’s possible that he could be questioned about the charges he’s facing by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. However, experts have said he has such a solid base that his popularity won’t be too affected by these types of scandals, which have enough toxicity to harm almost any other candidate’s chances to win a nomination.

CNN said the event will be attended by a live audience from the state’s GOP and undeclared voters who say they will vote in the Republican presidential primaries of New Hampshire. This group of voters represents a significant fraction of US general voters that Trump needs to appeal to, considering that many centrists and moderate Republicans don’t see the former commander-in-chief as a good candidate.

His decision to appear at this televised town hall-style event is a major departure from his regular appearances on right-wing media outlets such as Fox News, and some smaller right-wing channels such as OAN or Newsmax.

Trump’s decision is even more surprising when taking into consideration the fact that he has regularly attacked CNN for being a “fake news” outlet that is biased against conservatives. The former president even sued the network for defamation over the way it covered his role in the January 6th, 2021 Capitol riots.
