(AmericanProsperity.com) – On Thursday, November 9th, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer issued four additional subpoenas and requested transcribed interviews with eight more associates of the Biden family, including Hunter’s art dealer. These actions follow Wednesday’s issuance of subpoenas to both Hunter and James Biden, the President’s brother.
Comer aims to depose Soho gallerist George Berges, patron Elizabeth Naftali, and Biden family associates Mervyn Yan and Eric Schwerin. The panel also demands a transcribed interview with Ukrainian American businessman John Hynansky, associate Jason Galanis, associate Joey Langston, and Americore Health, LLC trustee Carol Fox.
Comer is leading the House Republican impeachment investigation into President Biden, which began in September and involves three separate committees: the House Oversight, Ways and Means, and Judiciary Committees.
In a statement, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said the subpoenas mark a further step in ensuring President Biden’s accountability. He emphasized House Republicans’ commitment to meeting the expectations of the American people.
Among the four transcribed interview requests, the committee’s primary focus is on the loans received by members of the Biden family. A key point of interest is the connection with Americore’s Fox, sparking curiosity among Republican investigators regarding its financial interactions with James Biden. Records obtained by the panel suggest that the now-defunct operator facilitated at least $600,000 in loans for the President’s brother.
The latest set of issued subpoenas targeted Bergès and Naftali, key figures in Hunter Biden’s lucrative art dealings. The committee had sought a recorded interview with Berges multiple times to investigate the sales of Hunter’s art, but he never complied. This prompted Comer to follow up with a subpoena in response.
The subpoenas against Yan and Schwerin explain the panel’s enduring interest in investigating the relationship between Hunter Biden’s associates and the President. Schwerin, a longtime friend of the President’s son, has been noted for his frequent visits to the Naval Observatory or the White House.
Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, criticized the ongoing investigation, describing it as biased. He urged House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La) to halt the inquiry, labeling it as “another political stunt” designed to divert attention from what he called the failure of Rep. Comer and his MAGA allies to substantiate any of their debunked conspiracies concerning the Biden family.
