Cotton Warns the US Needs to Retaliate Against Iran

( – Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton said on November 26 that the only way the United States could stop the attacks from Iranian-backed militias in the Middle East would be by launching a “massive retaliation” against Iran. During an interview with Fox News, the conservative leader told anchor Shannon Bream that the Iranian regime and its proxies in the region have launched nearly 150 attacks against American forces in the Middle East under the Biden administration. He added that 66 attacks have been executed since October 17.

When asked if the US forces have responded to these attacks, Cotton said they did, but only a “few times.” He added that the responses were weak, as the American forces only hit back against “empty proxy warehouses” or some proxy forces in Syria and Iraq. The Republican senator also told Bream he believes that the reason behind the lack of an appropriate response has been President Joe Biden’s eagerness to prevent “Iranian casualties.”

He added that the commander-in-chief was committing a mistake, as he claimed that the proper step to take is to target every Iranian who is operating in Syria and Iraq. Cotton told Bream that the White House needs to send a “clear message” to the Iranian regime, and target “their assets” not only in the Middle East but also around the world.

When asked if such actions would raise the chances of a military conflict with Iran, Cotton told the Fox News anchor there have been some occasions where the US attacked the Persian nation and no escalation happened. He noted that the United States sank half of the Iranian navy during the Reagan administration, and remembered the elimination of Iran’s military leader Qasem Soleimani in Iraq during the Trump administration.

According to a New York Times report, President Biden has consistently rejected numerous bombing operations proposed by the Pentagon. The liberal newspaper revealed the commander-in-chief is “afraid” of “provoking” Tehran and escalating the armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.
