Democrat Hopes of “Blue Wave” Shattered

Democrat Hopes of

(AmericanProsperity.com) – Heading into Election Day, Democrats hoped to win many of the contested seats in the House of Representatives. However, as the night drug on, it was evident they’d fall short trying to reach their goals. They will still keep their majority, but the GOP House contenders made a strong push to secure seats to close the gap.

As of Wednesday morning, Democrats were able to gain two House seats in North Carolina and one in Georgia. But, other incumbent Democrat Representatives lost their races, including:

  • Collin Peterson (D-MI) fell to Michelle Fischbach
  • Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM) fell to Yvette Herrell
  • Joe Cunningham (D-SC) fell to Nancy Mace
  • Donna Shalala (D-FL) fell to Maria Elvira Salazar
  • Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. (D-FL) fell to Carlos Gimenez

These are just a few of the seats that flipped, while others are still too close to call in California and New York. Reporter Kirk Bado summed up the GOP’s success thus far quite well:

As we await results on the presidential race, Conservatives can take a deep breath knowing many congressmen and women will be sitting in Congress soon, ready to fight for their rights, freedoms, and prosperity. Let’s hope to see even more in the 2022 mid-terms.
