Democrat Leadership Offices Remain Closed, Photos Show, Despite

( – COVID-19 cases appear to be decreasing across the nation, prompting many state leaders and lawmakers to begin removing pandemic-era restrictions. Despite Biden urging Americans to get back to working in person instead of at home, it appears that many Democrat lawmakers have no intentions of ditching their work-from-home approach.

Not even a week after President Biden delivered his State of the Union speech, the offices of Democrats are still vacant. When will the supposed normalcy kick in? The Washington Free Beacon reported on a number of Democratic offices on Capitol Hill that remain empty as Senators and Representatives continue to work from home.

Biden’s call for people to return to in-person working comes as many Democrats are lifting their restrictions. They’ve urged Americans to get back to the office, noting the damage working from home has done to small businesses, and yet not even Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) office is open for business.

It’s a common site on Capitol Hill as many of the Democratic offices have signs on the doors, stating they’re closed to the public due to COVID-19 or in an effort to minimize the spread of germs and disease. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) office door has an occupancy limit sign stating only two people are allowed in her office at a time, but it’s unclear whether she’s currently working from the location.

Why aren’t they sticking to the same standards as they’re holding their constituents? Are these lawmakers still afraid of COVID-19? Don’t they want to return to normal as much as the rest of America?
