(AmericanProsperity.com) – Midterms are only months away, and politicians are on the campaign trail to earn enough votes to be elected or reelected. Part of campaigning involves creating ads to get the candidates’ messages out. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) issued its own ad, hoping to trump Republicans and boost support for members of the Left.
A 15-second advertisement targets Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), claiming he wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The ad also declares such a move would increase healthcare costs for Americans and no longer protect those with pre-existing conditions. The DNC is accusing the Republican party of wanting to increase the price of prescription drugs as well, making it more difficult for Americans to buy potentially life-saving medications.

Senator Johnson responded to the allegations, which President Biden and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have pushed. In a statement he asserted that he and other Republicans don’t have a secret scheme to repeal Obamacare. He claimed to be explaining a need to be better prepared, with a plan, before trying to do so when they have the majority again.
The accusations could come back to bite Democrats, who are using it as a platform to run ahead of the midterms along with Biden’s successes as president. On the other side of the political aisle, Republicans are running on the problems Americans have come to face since Biden took office like gas prices, inflation, the Southern Border, and crime.
In order for the GOP to achieve a majority in the Senate, they need to gain at least one seat. To do that, Senator Johnson must retain his position in a hotly contested race. It’s clear why the DNC is attacking Johnson, but Republicans are going to have to spend money to help him win his reelection bid.
