DOJ Report: Cities Permit Anarchy and Violence

( – Some American cities have been the epicenters of violent riots and anarchy over the summer. Meanwhile, their mayors stood by, letting immense damage occur unchecked. However, President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice (DOJ) will not let these cities continue like this without consequences.

On Monday, September 21, the DOJ identified three cities that permitted this “anarchy, violence, and destruction:” New York City, Portland, and Seattle. This report is in response to Trump’s September 2 memorandum stating the rights of Americans were under attack in these lawless areas.

Attorney General William Barr hopes that identifying these cities will encourage them to get “serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens.”

DC Reporter Steven Nelson looks forward to what may happen to these areas and those that did not make the list:

As our nation grapples with our current reality, we must encourage civil discourse, rather than riots and violence, to move America forward as a nation. This bold move by Barr will hopefully encourage our cities to instill law and order once again.
