(AmericanProsperity.com) – Elon Musk finalized his deal to acquire Twitter and has already begun shaking up the social media giant. The billionaire sent a letter to around 3,700 employees telling them they would no longer be working for the platform, effectively firing nearly half of the company.

The world’s richest man informed each of Twitter’s 7,500 employees whether they would still be with the company. In an email to the individuals no longer working for the social site, Musk declared it would be their last day there. The CEO noted that while the cut workers weren’t going to be on the company’s payroll anymore, they were still considered employees and needed to adhere to Twitter’s policies.
Additionally, Musk mentioned that despite the fact that these people were no longer working for the platform, they would still receive benefits and compensation until February 2, 2023. The new CEO also notified the fired workers they would be receiving information regarding their severance packages within a week. Meanwhile, in a separate email to the remaining 3,800, Musk confirmed the employees would still be with the company.
The bombshell comes after Musk had already fired Twitter’s top executives including former-CEO Parag Agrawal. The new owner also dissolved the company’s board of directors, making him the sole decision maker at Twitter.
