Elon Musk has caused concern among many observers that his acquisition would allow extremists to take over the social media platform. Many people have speculated what’s in store for the future of Twitter and its employees. Musk recently set those concerns to rest.
The Tesla CEO and newest owner of Twitter is allegedly gearing up to purge the company’s 7,500-person workforce. The New York Times specifically claimed the world’s richest man has “ordered cuts” across Twitter, mentioning that some areas will see larger slashes than others.

Gerber Kawasaki Wealth and Investment Management chief executive Ross Gerber declared an official of Musk’s team told them to expect major layoffs to come. Gerber noted the official said they could fire around 50% of Twitter’s workforce.
After Musk finalized his deal and took over the social media platform, he decided to fire the company’s top executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal, head of legal policy Vijaya Gadde, and CFO Ned Segal, among others.
Musk also released a statement on Twitter in which he explained why he decided to buy out the platform. The world’s richest man admitted that he didn’t acquire the social site to make more money or because he thought it would be easy.
