(AmericanProsperity.com) – Desperate to improve her sagging poll ratings, Kamala Harris’ latest proposal to offer $20 billion in “fully forgivable” loans exclusively to Black entrepreneurs has ignited a firestorm of controversy and legal scrutiny.
Critics argue that this racially targeted initiative not only violates the Constitution but also represents a desperate attempt to secure votes.
The plan was unveiled as part of Harris’ “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men” and seeks to provide 1 million loans of up to $20,000 each to Black entrepreneurs.
However, legal experts are sounding the alarm, asserting that such race-based financial aid violates the 14th Amendment.
Cornell Law School professor William Jacobson, who runs the Equal Protection Project, stated, “The federal government handing out business grants or loans based on race clearly violates the constitutional guarantee of equal protection under the laws.”
“I think expressly granting benefits on the basis of race would violate federal law and would be unconstitutional,” added South Texas College of Law Houston constitutional law professor Josh Blackman.
“Any federal program that makes decisions and prioritizes people based on the color of their skin is going to be presumptively unconstitutional,” Southeastern Legal Foundation executive director Kim Hermann explained.
This is not the first time the Biden-Harris administration has attempted to implement race-based financial programs.
Previous efforts have been swiftly blocked by courts, citing clear constitutional violations.
It seems Harris and her team have not learned their lesson as they keep pushing policies that divide Americans along racial lines.
The timing of this proposal is particularly suspect. With Harris underperforming among Black voters compared to previous Democrat candidates, this appears to be an attempt to buy votes.
Harris’ agenda also includes other controversial elements such as legalizing recreational marijuana and creating opportunities in the marijuana industry.
These initiatives seem designed to appeal to specific demographics rather than benefit all Americans equally.
