(AmericanProsperity.com) – In an effort to keep the state residents safe, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has launched a criminal investigation into controversial influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate.
Uthmeier specifically issued search warrants and subpoenas following the brothers’ unexpected arrival in the state.
The brothers face serious criminal allegations in Romania while attempting to establish themselves in Florida, a state known for its strong stance against such crimes under Governor Ron DeSantis’ leadership.
Uthmeier has directed the Office of Statewide Prosecution to take immediate action against the Tate brothers.
The investigation came after Florida officials were caught off guard by the brothers’ arrival in Fort Lauderdale.
The influencers face serious criminal charges abroad including r**e, sex with a minor, people trafficking, and money laundering.
Uthmeier doubled down on his commitment to pursue justice:
“In Florida, this type of behavior is viewed as atrocious. We’re not going to accept it. They chose to come here and set their feet down in this state, and we’re going to pursue every tool we have within our legal authority to hold them accountable.”
The Tate brothers were arrested in Romania in 2022. Despite their ongoing legal troubles abroad, they were able to return to the United States after Romanian prosecutors unexpectedly lifted their travel restrictions.
“Based on a thorough review of the evidence, I’ve directed the Office of Statewide Prosecution to execute search warrants and issue subpoenas in the now-active criminal investigation into the Tate brothers,” Uthmeier stated.
Governor DeSantis has made it clear that the controversial figures are not welcome in his state.
“Florida is not a place where, where you’re welcome with that, with that type of conduct in the air, and I don’t know how it came to this, we were not involved, we were not notified,” Governor DeSantis declared.
The Florida attorney general emphasized the state’s zero-tolerance policy for crimes against women.
“These guys have themselves publicly admitted to participating in what very much appears to be soliciting, trafficking, preying upon women around the world,” Uthmeier said.
Andrew Tate is a former professional kickboxer turned social media personality.
He has been banned from multiple platforms, including TikTok, YouTube and Facebook, for promoting misogynistic views.
Despite the serious allegations, Tate maintains his innocence, challenging the Florida governor’s stance against him and his brother.
The brothers’ arrival in Florida followed reports that a Trump administration official had shown interest in their case at the Munich Security Conference.
While they claim they have “no criminal record anywhere on the planet ever,” Florida officials are taking the Romanian charges seriously and investigating whether any alleged crimes might trigger Florida jurisdiction.
Governor DeSantis clarified that the Tates’ return was a federal matter with no state involvement.
However, his administration is now taking a proactive approach to ensure Florida does not become a haven for those accused of trafficking and exploiting women.
