(AmericanProsperity.com) – Three Republican lawmakers have chosen to fight back after receiving $500 fines for not wearing masks on the House floor in alignment with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) rules in May. Although they lost a recent appeal to the House Ethics Committee to forgive the fine, they still have one more way to keep Pelosi and her power-hungry rules from restricting their freedom.
On Tuesday, July 27, Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Thomas Massie (R-KY), and Ralph Norman (R-SC) announced they will sue Pelosi for violating the rights bestowed to them by both the 1st and 27th Amendments. The lawmakers claim that Pelosi’s mask mandate, which contradicted the CDC’s guidelines from May until this week, is “oppressive” and nothing more than “a political tool.”
Representative Massie shared his disdain for Pelosi’s policies on Twitter:

The GOP lawmakers chose not to wear facial coverings on the House floor after the CDC updated its guidelines in May, which stated that fully-vaccinated citizens did not need to wear masks anymore. Pelosi refused to update the House rules to reflect the CDC’s new guidelines, although her House rule now lines up with the CDC’s rules after the government agency flip-flopped on their efficacy once again.
Only when our lawmakers begin using common sense and science, rather than political manipulation, to write rules for our nation will Americans be able to trust them again. Until then, many Americans will remain wary of believing anything that comes out of Pelosi’s mouth.
