(AmericanProsperity.com) – Hunter Biden has been a hot topic of conversation for as long as Joe Biden has been in politics, but the drama around the president’s son came to a peak during the 2020 election season. However, a new report showed that Delaware’s US attorney David Weiss chose not to issue search warrants and subpoenas against Hunter during the 2020 campaign in case it interfered with the election.
On Friday, July 16, Politico reported federal officials close to attorney Weiss urged him to delay moving forward with the case so it would not become a campaign issue. The case began in 2018, but it was not until December 9, 2020, just after then-presidential candidate Joe Biden was dubbed the winner of the election, that Hunter revealed he was under federal investigation for tax evasion.
Jack Posobeic, the senior editor at Human Events, highlighted the absurdity of this preferential treatment for Hunter:

This story reminds many Americans of the 2016 presidential race where the announcement of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal gave former President Donald Trump a leg up come election time. Just like in 2016, prosecutors should have moved forward with the case in spite of election season so that American voters understood every aspect of the president’s family and if Joe Biden was involved in any of it.
