Iconic Singing Legend Under Criminal Investigation

Stemming from shocking sexual assault allegations, a criminal investigation has been launched into a legendary singer.

The American icon faces a $50 million lawsuit from four anonymous former housekeepers who claim he assaulted them over nearly two decades.

The case specifically impacted Motown superstar Smokey Robinson, who is now fighting to clear his name.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has launched a criminal investigation into the accusations against the 85-year-old.

However, Robinson’s attorney points out that the police report was only filed after the massive civil lawsuit was underway.

Four unnamed women allege Robinson assaulted them between 2006 and 2024 at his California properties.

Furthermore, additional claims of labor violations involve minimum wage and overtime issues.

Robinson, through his attorney Christopher Frost, categorically denies all accusations and is fighting back against what he sees as an extortion attempt.

The lawsuit portrays a horrific scenario, with plaintiffs describing Robinson as a “serial and sick r***st” who allegedly committed multiple assaults at three different residences over a 17-year period.

The timing of these allegations raises questions about motives, particularly given Robinson’s continued success and visibility.

The legendary singer recently released an album titled “What the World Needs Now” and is currently on tour with additional dates planned for later this year.

The accusations come when Robinson is still actively performing and maintaining his public image.

“We are aware that a police report has now been filed by the Plaintiffs in the civil lawsuit. It is clear to us what is happening here. Plaintiffs filed a police report only after they filed a $50 million lawsuit,” Frosty declared.

He added, “This means only that the police are now required to investigate. We welcome that investigation, which involves Plaintiffs who continue to hide their identities, because exposure to the truth is a powerful thing.”

Robinson’s attorney has been direct in challenging the credibility of the accusers, noting that they have concealed their identities while making damaging public claims.

Beyond the sexual assault allegations, the lawsuit also includes Robinson’s wife Frances.

Frances has been accused of fostering a toxic work environment and failing to prevent her husband’s alleged misconduct.

One accuser, identified only as Jane Doe 1, claims Robinson sexually assaulted her at least seven times before she eventually resigned due to harassment.

The lawsuit includes multiple charges ranging from sexual battery and assault to negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, gender violence, and labor code violations.

“The record will ultimately demonstrate that this is nothing more than a manufactured lawsuit intended to tarnish the good names of Smokey and Frances Robinson, for no other reason than unadulterated avarice,” Frosty said of the claims.

The sheriff’s department has confirmed they are “actively investigating criminal allegations” but emphasized the investigation is still in its early stages.

Robinson’s legal team believes this probe will ultimately vindicate the singer once the full facts emerge.

They have expressed confidence that the truth will prevail against what they describe as “vile” and “false” accusations.
