(AmericanProsperity.com) – The Left’s radical “squad” members are notorious for their anti-Israel and anti-Semite rhetoric. Some comments have gone so far that even fellow Democrats have condemned their speech. The latest absurd claim by the group comes from House Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) who claims that death threats against her are becoming more common due to a Facebook ad published by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
Omar’s Team Publicly Criticizes AIPAC Ad
Back in June, Omar equated the United States to the Taliban, declaring they both committed “unthinkable atrocities.” Unsurprisingly, her tweet received pushback from both sides of the aisle, condemning her comparison. AIPAC then sponsored an ad with an image of Omar, reminding viewers of her controversial tweet.
Avi Kaner, the Principal at Samawal Foundations, shared AIPAC’s ad on Twitter:
Ilhan Omar's @IlhanMN staff is infuriated that @AIPAC has asked the Congresswoman to differentiate between democracies and terror groups. Unlike Ilhan Omar, the vast majority of Americans are able to understand the difference. pic.twitter.com/X8Q4MxO5Ar

Soon after the ad was run, Omar’s spokesman Jeremy Slevin claimed it was “Islamophobic” and “virtually identical to the language used in death threats.” He went on to say that the ad equated Muslims with terrorism and it was trying to “silence advocacy for Palestinian human rights.”
He continued to tweet, claiming it was that ad that put the congresswoman’s “life at risk.”
AIPAC Defends Its Stance and Ad
Without missing a beat, AIPAC pushed back against the radical rhetoric of Omar and her team. It highlighted their “baseless attack” on the organization and that its ad won’t stop them from shining light on Omar’s “attack on America and Israel.”
AIPAC reiterated its original stance, stating, “there is no moral equivalence between democratic allies and the terrorists who target them.” In addition, an AIPAC spokesperson told Fox News the ad was “completely fair and accurate.”
Many congressional members stood by AIPAC, condemning Omar’s comments and claims. Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY) shared his point of view on Twitter:
Ilhan Omar repeatedly spews antisemitic hate, promotes anti-American propaganda & compares the US & Israel to Hamas & the Taliban. Now she's playing the victim for being called out on her gross behavior? Nothing but gutter politics & raw hate from Omar.https://t.co/up1sLoeAUn

Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) also called Omar out for playing the victim, saying she was the one who has a history of anti-Semitic comments:
No one is putting words in your mouth @Ilhan. You've made countless anti-Semitic remarks and the fact that you're not "canceled" for it shows the hypocrisy. https://t.co/CD0hEoKcRC

One Squad Member Rushed to Defend Omar, and Got Shut Down
Hoping to raise some sympathy for Omar, Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) responded to Slevin’s tweet, saying she was “so sick” of the situation. However, AIPAC also responded to Tlaib, saying the organization is also sick of people “inciting hate by demonizing Israel and spreading vicious, dangerous lies.”
Omar’s claim that death threats against her are growing simply due to an ad from a pro-Israel organization is ridiculous. AIPAC used Omar’s own words in its ad. Next time, Omar should stop herself before spewing more hateful speech, or else she will simply give pro-Israel groups more fodder for their ad campaigns.
