CA SHOWERS Illegals With Benefits Most Americans Don’t Even Have
(AmericanProsperity.com) – California is home to about 2.2 million undocumented immigrants. It has the largest population of illegals in the country and the most benefits for them, too. One of the freebies these people receive at the expense of taxpayers is health care.
At the end of June, the Golden State became the first in the country to provide free medical care to illegal immigrants. Governor Gavin Newsom (D) signed an operating budget for the state which expanded health coverage to all low-income migrants, no matter their status. The law to cover the group will take effect in January 2024.
Since 2019, illegals who were under the age of 25 could receive free health coverage through the state’s Medicaid program. But the governor’s move in June would allow about 764,000 more migrants to receive the benefit at an eventual cost of $2.7 billion.

On Monday, August 22, California’s Department of Health Care Services announced roughly 40,000 low-income illegals who will turn 25 before the law takes effect will keep their insurance.
The decision to provide illegal immigrants with free health coverage is controversial, to say the least. There are millions of uninsured citizens in the US who do not qualify for such programs. Additionally, the extra cost comes at a time when Americans are paying more for almost everything because of the inflation crisis.
