Iran Issues Red Lines Warning To US

( – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi issued an ominous warning to the United States and Israel on October 28, as he claimed that the Jewish state had “crossed the red line” amid its armed conflict with Hamas. On his Twitter account, Raisi published a statement where he accused Jerusalem of committing “genocide” against Palestinians in Gaza and claimed that Washington supported it.

The Iranian leader said that the crimes committed by the “Zionist regime” will force “everyone to take action.” He mentioned that despite the Biden administration’s requests for Tehran to refrain from any measures, Washington continues to “intervene” in the Middle East by providing widespread assistance to Israel. Raisi added that while the White House sent messages to the “Axis of Resistance,” it received a “clear response” on the battlefield.

According to an NPR report, “Axis of Resistance” is a phrase used in the Middle East that refers to a “loose-knit alliance” in the region supported by the Iranian regime. Some of the members of the group include Hamas, the Syrian dictatorship, and the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah.

While the Iranian president didn’t elaborate on what he meant by “red line,” he published another statement in Iran’s Tasnim News Agency where he said the United States and Israel could “destroy” the Middle East with their actions. Raisi claimed that Washington needs to answer for Israel’s “atrocities” in Gaza, as it keeps providing economic and military support to an “anti-human regime.”

The Iranian leader’s statements came after Hamas executed a terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, which declared war against the Palestinian terrorist group in response. While different reports revealed that the Iranian regime helped Hamas plot its attack on the Jewish state, Tehran has repeatedly denied any involvement.

Since the conflict started, Iranian-backed militia groups have carried out drone and rocket attacks against American bases both in Syria and Iraq. On October 19, the Pentagon said that a US warship intercepted ballistic missiles across the Red Sea, and revealed these were launched by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
