(AmericanProsperity.com) – On Dec. 8, War Room host and Infowars reporter Owen Shroyer was released from prison after serving 47 days of his 60-day sentence.
Shroyer was charged in August 2021 for being on the grounds of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, when Shroyer and Alex Jones warned Trump supporters not to enter the building. Prosecutors stated that although he did not enter the building, Shroyer violated a deferred prosecution agreement from January 2020 prohibiting Shroyer from using “loud, threatening, or abusive language” or participating in “disorderly or disruptive conduct” on the grounds of the Capitol.
The agreement stemmed from a December 2019 House Judiciary Committee hearing where Shroyer “shouted in a loud manner.” According to court documents, he had completed 30 out of 32 community service hours required by the deferred prosecution agreement. After pleading guilty to a lesser charge in June, Shroyer was sentenced to serve 60 days in Louisiana’s Federal Correctional Institution Oakdale prison for being on the grounds of the Capitol Jan. 6, 2021.
He reported to prison Oct. 24 and was placed in solitary confinement for five days due to the Covid intake policies at the prison. In November, he was placed in solitary confinement again for a phone call posted to his Twitter account. In the phone call, he thanked his followers for their letters and support of him while he was serving his 60 days in prison. He also stated that he hoped to “pull the impossible” and host his own radio show while in prison. His Twitter account remained active while he was behind bars, with a few posts to the account. It is unclear how involved he was in posting to the account.
Shroyer was scheduled to be in prison until Christmas Eve.
Following his early release from prison, he posted a video thanking his followers on Twitter. In the post, he wrote that he was “happy to be free” and was “excited for what’s next.” He added that his “faith in the American people reaffirmed.”
