(AmericanProsperity.com) – The National Rifle Association (NRA) has faced off against liberal anti-gun advocates for years. So far, the NRA has been able to stay above water. It’s a trend that looks to continue despite one attorney general’s best efforts to dissolve the pro-2A organization.
New York Attorney General Letitia James pledged to go after the NRA. However, she won’t be breaking them down anytime soon as a judge has ruled that she can’t.

A Manhattan judge, Joel M. Cohen, blew up the AG’s intentions of bringing down the NRA. Cohen ruled that James’ allegations of no-show contracts, NRA officials misusing funds, and other suspicious spending aren’t enough to warrant what he called a corporate death penalty. Instead, Justice Cohen said fines or restitutions were plenty as punishment.
Cohen noted that while the AG’s allegations told a story of lax financial oversight, self-dealing, and greed at the highest levels of the NRA, the organization itself hasn’t done anything to harm the public or benefit itself. While the judge stopped James from putting the NRA out of business, he did rule in favor of allowing the AG to follow through on her lawsuit against Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the NRA, and other top organization officials. According to James, the accused spent millions of NRA funds for personal reasons and hid contracts that directly benefited them.
