JUST IN: Justice Kavanaugh Assassination Attempt Update

News update graphic with world map background.

In a massive update about the assassination attempt on conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the man behind the vicious plot has come forward with a huge bombshell.

Nicholas John Roske was arrested in June 2022 after traveling across the country to target the conservative justice, motivated by the Supreme Court’s leaked draft opinion on Roe v. Wade.

The left-wing California man’s attorneys announced that he would plead guilty to attempting to assassinate the Supreme Court justice without a plea agreement.

The 26-year-old Simi Valley resident faces a maximum sentence of life in prison for his politically motivated attack plan that targeted one of President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court appointees.

When arrested near Kavanaugh’s Maryland home, Roske was armed with a Glock 17 pistol, ammunition, a tactical knife, pepper spray, and zip ties.

He had carefully planned his attack, even researching the justice’s home address and arriving dressed in black clothing to avoid detection.

This level of preparation shows just how serious the threat against conservatives has become.

Authorities discovered that Roske was directly motivated by his opposition to the Supreme Court potentially overturning Roe v. Wade after a draft opinion was leaked in May 2022.

He also cited concerns about Second Amendment rulings, particularly believing Justice Kavanaugh would vote to loosen gun control laws following the Uvalde school shooting.

Court documents revealed Roske’s shocking statement to investigators: he believed assassinating Kavanaugh would give his life purpose and change the Supreme Court’s direction “for decades to come.”

This calculated attempt to influence judicial decisions through violence represents a direct attack on the constitutional system.

What makes this case even more disturbing is that Roske had seemingly planned to kill up to three justices.

According to authorities, he chillingly stated, “I am shooting for three” in communications they recovered.

Only his last-minute decision to call 911 while near Kavanaugh’s home prevented what could have been one of the most devastating attacks on the judiciary in American history.

The assassination attempt occurred during a period when leftist protesters were regularly gathering outside conservative justices’ homes following the leaked draft opinion.

Despite clear federal laws prohibiting demonstrations intended to influence judicial decisions, protections were not enforced until after Roske’s arrest.

Following the incident, Congress was forced to pass emergency legislation enhancing security for Supreme Court justices and their families.

The threat highlighted the dangerous consequences of inflammatory rhetoric against the Court from those who disagreed with its constitutional interpretations.

While a judge considered ordering a mental evaluation for Roske, his defense attorney insisted there were no concerns about his mental competency.

This suggests that Roske was fully aware of his actions when he traveled across the country with weapons and tactical gear to target a sitting Supreme Court justice over political disagreements.
