Abortion Vote Leads To Surprising Outcome
(AmericanProsperity.com) – The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which granted women abortion rights on a national scale, has only intensified the debate surrounding the procedure. Some states have already banned the practice, while others look to preserve it. Meanwhile, Kansas let its voters decide the fate of abortions, and they sent an overwhelming message to Republicans.
This is huge: abortion rights were on the ballot for the first time since Roe, and the people of Kansas voted to preserve access. I’m grateful down to my toes for everyone who helped stop this dangerous ballot measure in its tracks. https://t.co/krqSdoK4E2

The Sunflower State recently asked voters to head to the ballot box to vote on whether or not it should remove the part of its constitution that protects a woman’s right to abortion. Those in favor of removing the protections voted “Yes,” while those in opposition voted “No.” According to The New York Times, 58.8% of Kansas voters said “No,” beating the 41.2% of voters who opted “Yes” by double digits. So, it seems the state will preserve its abortion rights.
Despite being a red state, the Kansas voters have spoken, and they’ve given Republicans across the country something to think about. Many conservatives oppose abortions, and their base typically falls in line. However, the Kansas vote shows how complex politics can be. Campaigning on restricting or banning abortion may not be a pathway to victory for conservatives.
Or could this be a sign of Kansas changing colors?
