(AmericanProsperity.com) – This week, residents of Kenosha, Wisconsin erupted into protest after Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man, was shot by police. The chaos and violence grew, prompting federal reinforcement after county officials made a request.
On Wednesday, August 26, after multiple days and nights of riots, looting, and lawlessness, Monica Yuhas, the Vice Chairwoman for Kenosha County, requested that Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers send 1,500 National Guard troops to protect their county, businesses, and homes that were “under attack”.
Evers had initially sent 125 guard members. But, as the violence grew, he doubled the amount twice, eventually sending 500 soldiers. Evers also agreed to federal help after speaking with President Donald Trump:

As of Thursday, over 200 federal agents from the US Marshals, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and the FBI have deployed to Kenosha to assist with restoring law and order to the city.
Cities across our nation have faced civil unrest while working through a multitude of issues that have happened throughout the year. While our First Amendment rights are crucial to justice and a working democracy, crossing the line from a peaceful assembly to a riot only brings more problems to an already hurting nation.
