The congresswoman recently announced her intentions to run once again for her congressional seat and represent Wyoming. Nevertheless, she faces several obstacles along the way as she will likely see steep opposition.

In a video announcement, Cheney asserted she was running for re-election “because this is a fight we must win.” If successful, it would be Cheney’s fourth 2-year term as her district’s Representative.

Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, has been a critic of former President Trump since the TV personality-turned President of the United States took his oath of office, perhaps even before that. Paired with the fact that she sided with Democrats in the House’s January 6 investigation and voted to impeach Trump twice already, it might be hard for Cheney to earn the votes of Trump-supporting Republicans.

Cheney describes herself as a constitutional conservative on her website, and as Fox News reported, she’s been critical of her party, claiming they “abandoned the Constitution to embrace Donald Trump.” Cheney also faces resistance from those who will support GOP contender Harriet Hageman, who earned Trump’s endorsement. Does Cheney have a chance at overcoming the odds that are seemingly stacked against her?
