(AmericanProsperity.com) – The US government spends enormous amounts of money on a variety of endeavors. However, there are quite a few programs where the price tag does not match the purpose — such as maintaining the Guantanamo Bay prison. The 18-year-old detention camp spends an estimated $9.5 to $13 million per year on each prisoner held there, some of which are the terrorists behind the 9/11 attacks on our nation.
In 2020, NPR calculated how much the United States has, in total, spent housing Khalid Shaikh Mohammad, the mastermind behind 9/11 — a whopping $161 million. These precious taxpayer dollars are simply ensuring a terrorist lives on while millions of Americans struggle to make ends meet at home.
It doesn’t stop there. On January 27, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs under President Biden, Terry Adirim, issued an order that Guantanamo Bay prisoners would receive the COVID-19 vaccine soon. However, Defense Department press secretary John Kirby said the plan is currently paused.
Many have decried this plan, including Donald Trump Jr.:
Apparently 80 million people voted for a terrorist first policy. Absolutely sick this admin would prioritize those monsters while Americans are still trying to get a hold of the vaccine!

Mohammad was captured in 2003, which means the United States has housed him for over 17 years. While ensuring a trial to everyone is a critical cornerstone of our nation, there’s no reason this event should be pushed back any further as he continues to drain our taxpayer dollars.
