(AmericanProsperity.com) – Last week, Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) told reporters that protestors alongside her in Minneapolis, Minnesota should “get more confrontational” as they hoped for a guilty verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the police officer now convicted of killing George Floyd. After much backlash, Waters attempted to defend threatening words, but her defense fell flat for many.
On Thursday, April 22, Waters published a defense of her actions in an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times detailing her journey with the civil rights movement. In her article, she accused Conservatives of targeting her in order to “divert attention” from the “violent, domestic terrorist insurrection led by Donald Trump” in January.
However, a multitude of lawmakers have pointed out the hypocrisy of this accusation, as Waters herself seems to have incited violence less than a week before her piece was published. The incident in question is shared here by MRCTV:
Maxine Waters openly called for rioters to be "more confrontational" if a trial isn't ruled the way she wants it to.

While Representative Waters claims Donald Trump is a terrorist, she also claims that she’s “nonviolent” in the same article. All of this just days after calling protestors out past curfew to be “more confrontational.” Somehow, even as a lawmaker in the US House of Representatives, Waters cannot seem to get her definitions straight between a peaceful protest and civil unrest.
