McDonald’s Bombshell Announcement – Largest In Years!

Reflecting a broader confidence in President Donald Trump’s economic policies, McDonald’s plans to hire a staggering 375,000 workers this summer.

The fast-food giant announced this massive employment push alongside Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.

The move showcases strong collaboration with the administration while preparing for quick expansion across America.

The announcement came during a press conference in Ohio, where McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger revealed the company will create approximately 20,000 jobs in that state alone.

This massive hiring initiative comes as McDonald’s celebrates its 70th anniversary and plans to open 900 new restaurants across the United States by 2027.

“Here in Ohio, that means more than 20,000 jobs. That’s 20,000 opportunities for people to gain new skills. That’s 20,000 jobs where new crew will build connections with customers. That’s 20,000 more ways McDonald’s is making an impact,” said Erlinger.

This recruitment drive represents more than just seasonal employment; it signals a vote of confidence in the American economy despite recent challenges.

McDonald’s experienced a 3.6% decline in same-store sales earlier this year as inflation-wary customers cut back on fast food spending.

However, this hiring push indicates renewed optimism about consumer spending and economic growth under President Trump’s second term.

Chavez-DeRemer praised the initiative, stating:

“McDonald’s is sparking a ripple effect of prosperity for our workers, communities and the economy. By expanding their workforce, the corporation will be driving investment and setting the standard for industry growth, whether as a launch pad for a different career or as a ladder for internal achievements.”

The hiring announcement follows McDonald’s’ strategic moves to align with President Trump’s administration.

The company donated $1 million to the president’s second inauguration, and its representatives have actively engaged with Chavez-DeRemer to discuss industry topics.

McDonald’s plans to add these 375,000 workers across both company-owned and franchised locations.

The initiative also highlights McDonald’s position as one of America’s largest private employers, with an estimated 1 in 8 Americans having worked there at some point.

Alongside the hiring announcement, McDonald’s celebrated the 10th anniversary of its “Archways to Opportunity” program, which has provided over $240 million in tuition assistance to more than 90,000 employees.

This initiative helps workers obtain high school diplomas, college degrees, and English language skills.

“Just because you work in fast food doesn’t mean your dreams end there,” said Anamaria Monterroso, a McDonald’s employee who benefited from the program.

McDonald’s impressive financial performance underscores its continued strength in the American economy.

In the first quarter of 2025, the company reported revenues of $5.96 billion and a net income of $1.87 billion.
