(AmericanProsperity.com) – Hollywood actors and actresses are often known for their progressive views and endorsement of Democratic candidates. Yet, every so often, one is brave enough to break rank. This time, it was actress Rose McGowan standing out among the crowd, choosing to throw her support behind California recall election candidate Larry Elder whilst leaving her political party.
At an event in Brentwood, California on Sunday, September 12, McGowan announced she left the Democratic Party “because everyone who has harassed, stalked and stolen from” her called themselves a Democrat. With this, she endorsed gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder to take California Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D) spot should Californians vote to recall him on Tuesday, September 14.
One American shared a part of McGowan’s compelling speech on Twitter, celebrating her bold move:

McGowan highlighted during her speech that America has turned into a “complicity machine that benefits few.” However, she did not leave listeners without hope. She urged them to “put a stake in the heart of evil” by voting the power mongers out of office. She also highlighted that she does not agree with Larry Elder on all of his views, but instead affirmed he “is the better candidate” and “the better man.”
Even a Hollywood elite can break free from the mold and subscribe to conservative values and the Republican party. This gives much hope that in 2022 and 2024, changes will happen across the board when it comes to powerful people in elected offices.
