(AmericanProsperity.com) – According to a Fox News Wednesday report, US former Vice President Mike Pence will officially announce his presidential bid next week. The Republican leader will officially launch his presidential campaign in Iowa, the state that kicks off the GOP presidential nomination calendar with its caucuses.
As reported by the TV network, the former vice president will probably announce his presidential run in a campaign video. He will allegedly do this at a Republican event in the city of Des Moines on June 7th.
Pence’s decision comes as no surprise as he has already hinted he could run for president. One of the most famous moments was right after former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley took this step. When reporters asked him what he thought about her decision, the former vice president said Haley may have “more company soon” in the presidential race.
During an interview with Fox News, GOP consultant Colin Reed said that Pence could be a great candidate because of his political experience. He noted that the former vice president has a “powerful trifecta” because of his experience in an administration, as a governor, and in Congress.
Reed also explained that the former vice president knows everything about the role he’s looking to assume. He also said that two of his biggest pros are that he has experienced consultants and advisers on his team and that he knows who he is and “why he’s running.”
While many believe Pence is a good candidate, it remains unclear whether he could compete against former President Donald Trump. After all, Pence’s former boss has massive popularity in the Republican Party, to the point where he’s currently leading in every single poll. In fact, a recent one revealed that Trump is currently leading President Joe Biden by 7 points, in what could be a rematch of the 2020 presidential election.
