(AmericanProsperity.com) – A top NATO official has recently spoken out saying that a war with Russia is possible in the next 20 and it’s something they are preparing for.
The Chairman of NATO’s military committee said, “We have to realize it’s not a given that we are in peace and that’s why we, the NATO forces, are preparing for a conflict with Russia.”
His warning comes at a perfect time as they are expecting to start military drills that are supposed to include 90,000 troops and these drills are expected to last for months. The goal of these drills is to ensure that the alliances are prepared and can enforce the border in the event that a conflict with Russia arises. He also warned that a huge number of civilians would need to be moved if something like this happened and that leaders need to think of a plan for moving that many people.
Many officials are worried about Russia causing a larger conflict in the coming years, with the possibility being uncomfortably high. Some officials say that Russia isn’t just “contained in Ukraine” and that no matter which way things go in that war, Russia could spill their violence on any other enemy.
NATO officials are concerned about their armaments and stockpiles in the case that Russia launches a war or conflict with other countries. The stockpile of weapons and aid has slowly started to deteriorate as the conflict in Ukraine continues to spike.
On the other hand, Russia has been amping up its military stockpile and has tripled its forces. NATO is going to amp up their military exercises with the largest drill that they’ve done since the Cold War. The operation is called Steadfast Defender and its main goal is to prepare the NATO defense and offense for a potential war with Russia.
Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin spoke out about the claims and concerns of them going to war with NATO by saying that it was “complete nonsense.”
Experts have mentioned that it is important to have forces and supplies in case of greater conflict. “You have to have a system in place to find more people if it comes to war, whether it does or not. Then you talk mobilization, reservists, or conscription. You need to be able to fall back on an industrial base that is able to produce weapons and ammunition fast enough to be able to continue a conflict if you are in it,” NATO officials said.
