(AmericanProsperity.com) – Threatening to overwhelm already strained resources in Ciudad Juárez, a massive migrant caravan of thousands of people is heading toward the U.S. border.
Ciudad Juárez is a key crossing point into the United States It is bracing for impact as shelters and assistance services are already pushed to their limits.
The city’s infrastructure is buckling under the weight of the ongoing migration crisis, raising concerns about public safety and resource allocation for American citizens living in border communities.
Described as an “exodus from poverty,” the caravan mainly comprises migrants from Cuba, Haiti and Honduras.
These individuals are exploiting lax border policies between Guatemala and Mexico, with activist Luis García Villagrán pointing out how easy it is to cross.
“The problem is that the southern border [with Guatemala] is open, and 800 to 1,000 people are crossing it daily. If we don’t get out of Tapachula, the town will collapse,” he stated.
The Biden-Harris administration’s weak stance on border security has emboldened these caravans.
Migrants are not only seeking economic opportunities but are also allegedly using the caravan for protection against crime and extortion.
This mass movement poses significant national security risks as authorities cannot verify all caravan members’ true identities and intentions.
The U.S. elections are also causing uncertainty among migrants, with many rushing to cross before potential policy changes.
Ciudad Juárez officials are concerned about the potential for mass deportations if immigration policies tighten after the election.
Local authority Juan Fierro warned, “If they were to expel or deport en masse, once the next president takes office, that would in some way affect the border area, because we are not prepared to receive such a large number of people who could be deported.”
The Biden-Harris administration faces mounting pressure to reduce U.S.-Mexico border arrests, with Customs and Border Protection reporting alarmingly high encounter numbers.
As the caravan moves north, it is clear that the current administration’s policies have failed to protect American interests.
The strain on resources, the potential for increased crime and the undermining of legal immigration processes are direct results of weak border enforcement.
