New York Times Said They Received Hacked Trump Campaign Documents

(AmericanProsperity.com) – The New York Times has confirmed that they received some of the hacked Trump campaign documents that other media outlets received as well.

Donald Trump campaigners have said that they were hacked by Iran; they stated that the country hacked in and was able to pull confidential campaign documents.

Politico said that they received emails from someone named “Robert” who sent internal campaign communications and almost a three hundred page research document on Trump’s running mate, JD Vance. The news organization said that the information provided was based on “publicly available information.”

Some Democratic lawmakers have been pushing for information about the breach to be released to the public. Eric Swalwell, a Democratic congressman of California, posted on social media that he would be seeking a brief in regards to the breach.

Adam Schiff, the Democrat of California, said that the Department of Homeland Security officials should declassify information on the nature of the attack. Schiff said that the U.S. intelligence community moved slowly in the hacking scheme that was done by Russia eight years ago and that they should “act quickly here.”

Trump’s campaign was suspicious of a breach after news organizations had been asking questions about Vance before he was announced a candidate for vice president. The Washington Post stated they received the document about the potential VP, and Politico stated they’d been receiving emails from a “Robert” for over a month now.

Steven Cheung, a Trump spokesperson, said “Any media or news outlet reprinting documents or internal communications are doing the bidding of America’s enemies and doing exactly what they want.”

Microsoft hasn’t stated that the attack was targeting the Trump campaign, but it has said that a group run by Iranian Revolutionary Guards was behind the June attack on Trump’s presidential campaign.
