Weather Anchor Reveals Cause Of Two-Week Absence
(AmericanProsperity.com) – Viewers who regularly watch the weather on NBC’s “Today” likely noticed a familiar face missing. Al Roker, 68, has been absent from the show, prompting concern among his followers and even coworkers. Here’s why the anchorman has been missing.
NBC "Today" show weather anchor Al Roker says he is recovering after being hospitalized last week for blood clots. "I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery," Roker, 68, posted on Instagram. https://t.co/s5Zj5EB5KV

The 68-year-old explained on social media that he was admitted to the hospital within the past two weeks due to a formation of blood clots in his leg. Roker explained that some of the clots had made their way to his lungs, but he’s now on his way to recovery. Many of his followers, along with coworkers Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, wished him well and expressed their hope that he overcomes the issue quickly.
Deborah Roberts, an ABC News correspondent and Roker’s wife, noted on social media that she was thankful for the level of care her husband was receiving. The reporter added she loved Roker and couldn’t wait for him to be home. According to AP News, it’s unclear if the weather anchor will be co-hosting his network’s coverage of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Roker has been co-hosting the special event since 1995.
This is the second time the weatherman has been off-air in recent years. In September 2020, doctors diagnosed the anchor with prostate cancer. Roker had made his condition public in an effort to raise awareness for the disease. The weatherman went in for surgery in November of that same year.
